Scented Pages | Where Literature Meets Olfactory Storytelling

Collaborative Projects
2026/03/13

At the 2025 Yangcheng Book Fair, Xuelei Fragrance Museum unveiled "Scented Pages: An Olfactory Journey Through Literature," introducing our "Fragrance and Color: Synesthetic Reading" concept to create a multi-sensory experience bridging text and scent.

Our booth featured an innovative "Scent and Color Tasting Bar," where visitors discovered the deep crimson sandalwood of Dream of the Red Chamber, the pine-green freshness of Walden, and the golden warmth of The Little Prince—each classic assigned its own "olfactory signature." These specially commissioned fragrances forge deeper emotional connections between readers and literature, transforming scent into a powerful mnemonic device that revives the world of books with every inhalation.

Book Fair ticket holders enjoyed exclusive access to our "Literature and Fragrance" guided tours throughout the following month. Visitors who collected stamps at our booth received a complimentary scent archive featuring 14 distinct fragrance families, completing the sensory journey initiated at the Fair's interactive installations.

This collaboration represents our commitment to bringing the philosophy of perceive the world with fragrance into public cultural spaces—where reading transcends sight and touch to bloom in the imagination through scent.
